I've seen some people complain that the devs learned "nothing" from the Ishgardian Restoration, but I have to disagree. I think nearly every aspect of Cosmic Exploration is a clear improvement over what the Restoration was. The "you no lifed this better than anyone else here" stuff is designed better (imo). It has those mech operations periodically so it doesn't feel quite as bad if you miss out on a Red Alert or whatever the hell happens when the giant project actually advances. But most importantly to me, it's not a completely mindless macrofest if you're a crafter, and while it's not a giant payday for gatherers like the Restoration was (alas), I feel like those missions are more interesting than just doing an optimized loop in the Diadem. And that some missions can lead into other missions? Or some missions use two classes to complete them? I love it.

Basically, the missions seem like they're designed to make you remember what all your buttons actually do, and how to best use them for the task you've been given. And I think that's a huge step up for crafting/gathering focused content.

I even like how they've approached the relic tools better, in part because it encourages you to do different missions!

Now if I could win something besides a bunch of fuckin' prisms in the lottery ...

No, but I feel so bad for Namingway, they did their job for 1000 years return home after their communicator broke. Just to learn that the their very important mission is over. Without them even being there. Like my little buddy walked home, presumably past Zodiaks former prisson and Zodiaks aura, gone, and so exited to tell everyone, that everyone on Etherys is small. Just for everybody to be like yeah so the final days are over, solved, won't ever be a problem again, as far as we know, our mission over. And not 5 minutes later Searchingway goes so I dream to travel to other planets do you want to name everything we find. God I love the Loporite.
